Novenas

Novenas are precious treasures of the Catholic faith — a path of persevering prayer that brings us closer to the heart of God. The word “novena” comes from the Latin “novem,” meaning “nine.” Thus, a novena is a devotional practice consisting of nine days of continuous prayer, made with faith and trust, whether asking for a special grace, thanking for a miracle, or seeking spiritual strength.

Inspired by the Scriptures, especially the nine days of prayer between the Ascension of Jesus and Pentecost, novenas teach us to wait on the Lord with hope, patience, and faithfulness.
